Question about my vision and about blindness, i'm scared/worried?

my vision is 20/50, and i have gles, can bad vision cause you to go blind? i'm so worried about going blind, i am 19 years old and i think my last eye exam was around 2 years ago, as far as i know i do not have glaucoma or any of that but i do have astigmatism, i'm so worried, please help! and can you go blind without cataracts or glaucoma? please be nice about your answers, i'm very worried. thanks for reading and answering.
