How can I get city official or inspector to my apartment to see the neglect to it?

I am just wondering is there a way to get a city apartment inspector or someone similar to my apartment to look around and see the neglect and apartment owners carelessness. They come every month to do extermination and water leak checks (I think to be nosey to see whats in each person's apt) however its such a slum and I want to move out but they are not letting me and I am on a month to month lease please help I am located in Calumet Park, IL 15 minutes from Chicago, IL
