Would it be beneficial in the long run?

Spanish is always useful! It's spoken by such a big proportion of the world and everywhere you go there'll always be Spanish speakers with whom you can speak. Especially since you live in North America, almost all of South America speaks it so if you ever want to explore your own continent it will be useful for you :) Good luck!
